Payden & Rygel’s global equity strategy uses active selection of countries, sectors, and currencies to drive investment returns.


The global equity product does not select individual stocks for the portfolio. Our experienced global equity team invests in a portfolio of stock index futures, exchange traded funds, and swaps to express country, sector, and currency overweights and underweights. The portfolio does not employ leverage, as each dollar, euro, or yen invested is backed by short-term fixed income instruments. Our philosophy has been supported by several academic studies which confirm the importance of country and sector selection.

The Payden & Rygel global equity product is managed as a core product, without a growth or value style bias. This unique approach has been successfully employed for Payden & Rygel institutional clients since 1997.
